Opera "Suor Angelica" is Puccini's later work.It is composed of the opera "Il Tabarro" and "GianniSchicchi" asa "Trilogy"."Trilogy" isthelastworkcompleted inPuccini'slife."SuorAngelica" isa one-acttragedywithoutany malecharacters in the whole drama.So all characters are female.The plot is relatively simple,andthe whole drama does notexceed an hour.Oneof themosttouching is Angelica's aria "Senza mamma".There is no high pitch in this piece,but for a successful interpretation,it requires not only superb singing skills,but also the singer's enthusiasm,which deeply reflects the effect of sadness.Based on a brief introduction to Puccini and the opera "Suor Angelica",this article focuses on analyzing and research of the musical structure,singing skills and emotional expressionof the aria "Senza mamma",and at the same time capable of more in-depth understanding of this work,to grasp the work style.So as to get better singing experience in singing practice.Also this article hopes to bring some help and inspiration to the singers who like and interpret this work.
