With the development of new curriculum reform,many new teaching ideas have been put forward and fruitful results have been achieved.The students’ learning interests and enthusiasms achieved qualitative changes.However,there is still a tendency of surface learning.Teachers didn’t master the new teaching methods completely.The use of these teaching methods still stays on the surface level.The new curriculum reform requires deep learning of students.The learning cases are important tools that guides students’ learning,they were widely used in English teaching.So,the learning cases play an irreplaceable role in the process of achieving students’ deep learning as the important carriers of knowledge.This research selected the first semester’s English learning cases of the first grade in one senior high school.There are the learning cases of twelve units of two books.This research also selected one hundred students and six English teachers from the first grade of this school randomly to attend the questionnaire research.Then this research selected ten students from these one hundred students randomly to attend the interview research,and the six teachers all attended the interview research.This research is based on the constructivism,situational cognition theory and distributed cognition theory.This research is also based on the research of the learning cases in our country.It analyzed the characteristics of the learning cases from the perspective of deep learning.The analysis of the characteristics of learning cases mainly includes six aspects: cognitive goals,knowledge structure,problem design,context construction,transfer training,evaluation and reflection.Then this research analyzed the problems in the learning cases.Finally,this research analyzed the application effect of the learning cases through questionnaire and interview research.So,this research aims to explore these research questions: 1.What are the characteristics of the learning cases from the perspective of deep learning? 2.What are the problems of the learning cases that are inconsistent with the requirements of deep learning? 3.How is the application effect of the learning cases?Through the analysis of learning cases,it was found that: The learning cases have the following characteristics: The design of the knowledge points in the learning cases conforms to the students’ learning laws.There’s no expansion of knowledge besides the contents in the textbooks.The learning cases have the following problems: The learning cases just list the knowledge simply and don’t help the students construct knowledge structure.The questionsare too easy to arouse students’ association.For the knowledge transfer,the learning cases just make students use the knowledge to solve practices.And the learning cases lack the reflection and evaluation part.The results of the questionnaires and interviews also shows that:The learning cases can improve the efficiency of students’ learning and are helpful for students’ prevision.And the learning cases can also help the teachers know the knowledge in the textbooks quickly.But the learning cases cannot achieve the objectives of promoting students’ deep learning. |
