| How to improve efficiency of Chinese-teaching and promote Chinese learners’ acquisition efficiency is one of the most concerned issues in TCSOL.Due to its particularity,overseas Chinese teaching need to understand students’ needs and design teaching behaviors that meet students’ expectations.In this paper,author takes students who study in the Confucius Institute at university of Mauritius as the investigation object,evaluates 27 effective teaching behaviors.The results show that the highest rated teaching behavior is “before teaching new lessons,teachers should review the important words and grammar points already learned”,the lowest rated teaching behavior is” teachers should not use English or French in the teaching,they should use only Chinese.” Factor correlation analysis revealed that different classes and ethnic groups showed significant differences in the evaluation of teaching behaviors.Based on the questionnaire analysis results and interview results,the author provides relevant suggestions from three aspects: students,teachers and Confucius Institutes.This research can not only provide some references for Chinese teaching in Mauritius,but also provide some references for Chinese teaching in other countries,to a certain extent,make up for the lack of research on the Country-specific effective teaching behavior of TCSOL,and promote Chinese teachers themselves Professional development. |
