The Representation Of Logicality In The Translation Of International Relations Text

This report is based on the translation of Power and International Relations: A Conceptual Approach,which focuses on the social power perspective in international relations.The source text sheds light on how power has been considered during the last half century and how it should be approached in future research.The textual style is formal,the information content is large,the sentence structure is complex,and the logic is strong,which bring a certain degree of translation difficulty to the translator.Thus,the translator summarizes the problems in the process of translation methods and techniques used.In the process of translation,the biggest difficulty lies in the representation of the logicality of the source text.The translator tries to analyzes the logicality of the words and discourse.In terms of words,the logical representation in the translation process from two aspects are expounded: logical conjunction and nominalization.In terms of discourse,attributive clause and inter-sentence are considered,and amplification,disassembly,and reorganization are used as the main translation techniques in order to achieve the best translation results.Through this translation practice,the language features in the text of international relations are further understood and translation techniques are used flexibly,hopefully to provide references for translators of such texts.
