The original text of this report is selected Chapter 5(Parts 3-4)and Chapter 6(Parts 1-2)of the Chinese Academic Translation Project "History of Relations between China-Latin American and Caribbean Countries",which was a cooperative project between my tutor and China Social Sciences Publishing House. The fifth chapter of the book is mainly about the steady development of China-Latin America relations,in which sections third to fourth specifically talk about the development of their economic and trade relations and cooperation in international and regional affairs and the sixth chapter mainly focuses on relations under the new international pattern. The sections first and second specifically analyze the international pattern and the new development of their relations, bring significance and value to the analysis of political and international relations texts in the future. There are many run-on sentences in the original text, which is an obvious feature of this text.Because of the great differences in the expression of English and Chinese sentences, the emergence of various run-on sentences and its English translation has become the difficult points of my translation practice.Based on the current study of Chinese run-on sentences, the author takes the implicit logical relations of Chinese run-on sentences as a clue. The English translation strategies of distinguishing principal and subordinate, adding omitted information, adding words, simplifying the repeated structure, sequential translation and deconstruction are used to deal with the points of this report. The translator lists and analyzes some representative translation examples, hoping that this report can provide references for other scholars who study such topics.
