Vocabulary is a core element of language.In the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,Chinese vocabulary plays a very important role both in teaching material and in teaching activities.Among the research results of modern Chinese vocabulary,the study of trisyllabic words needs to be strengthened,as is the situation in the field of Chinese as a foreign language.Compared with the two-syllable words,the three-syllable words carry a larger amount of information,which is more in line with the rapid development of society and the practical needs of people’s communication.It is also more difficult for foreign students to read,analyze,and master.There is a large number of comprehensive textbooks for teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language,Road to Success,and it is widely used,so there is a need for research.General Curriculum for International Chinese Teaching,Classification of Syllable Chinese Vocabulary Levels for International Chinese Education,and HSK Outline for the New Chinese Proficiency Test are three more commonly used syllabuses for teaching Chinese as a foreign language(hereinafter referred to as "three outlines").Their vocabulary contains trisyllabic words.In order to better present the overall situation of the three syllable words in the comprehensive textbook of "Road to Success",and to serve teaching and compiling textbooks and outlines,this textbook should be inspected together with the three outlines.The thesis consists of three parts: introduction,main text and conclusion.The introduction part mainly introduces the research status of the comprehensive textbook of Road to Success and the trisyllabic words of modern Chinese,as well as the research methods and theoretical basis of the thesis.The body part consists of four chapters.The first chapter defines the three syllable words,based on which the research object—the three syllable words in the textbook is determined and counted.The three syllable words in the textbook and the outline of the three syllable words are briefly analyzed.The second chapter analyzes the syllable patterns,soft sounds,and tone changes of the three-syllable words in the textbook,analyzes the structural relationship of the three-syllable compound words,and analyzes the characteristics of word formation.The third chapter examines the collection of trisyllabic words in the three outlines of the textbook.The fourth chapter is related suggestions.It is suggested that when teaching three-syllable words in textbooks,teachers can consider appropriately explaining the internal structure relationship and word-building thinking of three-syllable words to students.It is recommended that foreign students pay attention to them when learning three-syllable words in textbooks.Spelling points,pay attention to the Chinese trisyllabic word derivation,learn to draw on one another;it is suggested that textbooks can consider increasing the number of trisyllabic words in the vocabulary,and treat the formation of individual trisyllabic words more carefully,and unify the trisyllabic words in the textbook.The writing style of Hanban / Confucius Institute is suggested that when compiling or revising syllabuses for teaching Chinese as a foreign language,the unified vocabulary acceptance criteria of each syllabus should be considered,and trisyllabic words should be included as time goes by.One.The conclusion part briefly summarizes the full text and points out the shortcomings of the paper.
