| As electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles(EVs and PHEVs)have the advantage of energy saving, environmental protection, fast acceleration, silence and high energy efficiency, they are making effective performance in dealing with global environmental pollution and energy crisis, and are also the research focus in many nations(Su,2013).The charging technique of EVs and PHEVs,which is a core part of the industry, has achieved progress and breakthroughs these years. This is a translation report based on the translation of the chapter: Charging Architectures for Electric and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles, which is taken from the book Technologies and Applications for Smart Charging of Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles. The original text mainly introduces the mainstream charging schemes and newest technology in this field. In the author’s opinion,English for science texts are the typical informative texts. In consideration of communicative purpose of the text, the author selects Peter Newmark’s Communicative Translation as a theoretical guidance in the translation,so as to realize the communicative purpose. The translator explores EST translation skills from lexical, syntactic, and textual perspectives respectively through the translation practice. This report is totally divided into four sections: Task Description,Process Description,Case Analysis and Conclusion. It is hoped that the report can provide reference for the translators who work in the EV charging industry. |
