Peer relationship is an important interpersonal relationship,and friendship quality is an important indicator for examining peer relationship.The quality of an individual’s friendship is deeply affected not only by self-development during the development process,but also by their parental relationship.Therefore,in order to explore the basic characteristics of the friendship quality of college students,the influence of parental conflict on the friendship quality of college students and the mechanism of self differentiation and security in it,this study according to the family system theory,social learning theory and emotional safety theory,and used the "College Student Friendship Quality Questionnaire","Parental Conflict Features Scale","College Student Self-differentiation Scale" and "Security Sense Scale" to study a total of 642 freshmen to seniors from several schools in Shenyang,Dalian and Chaoyang,Liaoning Province,and the data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 and Amos 22.0,including descriptive statistics,demographic variables(gender,grade),correlation analysis and structural model analysis.The results are as follows:(1)the overall friendship quality of college students is good,and there are significant gender(male,female)differences.The six dimensions of intimacy,help and support,relationship resilience,appreciation and trust,relationship maintenance,common interest were significantly different in gender,and the score of female college students was higher than that of male college students.(2)The total score of parental conflict and its three dimensions were significantly negatively correlated with the total score of friendship quality and its six dimensions,the total score of self differentiation and its four dimensions,the total score of security and its two dimensions;the total score of self differentiation and its four dimensions were positively correlated with the total score of security and its two dimensions;the total score of security and its two dimensions were positively correlated with the total score of friendship quality and its six dimensions There was a significant positive correlation between the total score of self differentiation,self position,emotional disconnection and integration,and the total score of friendship quality and its six dimensions,while the correlation coefficients of emotional response and common interest were not significant.(3)The structural equation model shows that there are two indirect ways of parent conflict’s influence on friendship quality: through the mediation of sense of security;through the chain mediation of self differentiation and sense of security.Conclusion: parent conflict,self differentiation and sense of security are all significantly related to the friendship quality of college students.Parent conflict can directly affect the friendship quality of college students,or indirectly affect the friendship quality through the mediating role of security,self differentiation and chain mediating role of security.
