A Study On The Relationship And Intervention Of Childhood Abuse,Security,Friendship Quality,and Social Anxiety Among Junior High School Students | | Posted on:2024-06-17 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y N Wang | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2555307148478014 | Subject:Applied psychology | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective: To explore the relationship between childhood trauma and social anxiety among junior high school students and the mediating role of sense of security and friendship quality.To examine the effect of group counseling with the theme of enhancing friendship quality on the intervention of social anxiety among junior high school students.Methods: 1.A total of 1379 junior high school students in a middle school in Shanxi Province were administered the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire,the Sense of Security Scale,the Friendship Quality Scale and the Adolescent Social Anxiety Scale from March to June 2022 using a convenience sampling method.2.30 junior high school students with the highest scores on the Social Anxiety Scale were selected from the 1379 valid questionnaires collected,and 15 were randomly selected as the intervention group.A group psychological intervention was conducted for 8 weeks,once a week for 1.5 hours each time.The other 15 students were selected as the control group and did not undergo group psychological intervention.The differences in friendship quality and social anxiety scores between the two groups were compared before and after the intervention.Results: 1.1379 junior high school students scored(31.98±9.76)for social anxiety,which was moderate;(44.03±4.88)for childhood trauma,(55.04±9.61)for feeling safe,and(56.18±5.76)for friendship quality.2.Male junior high school students scored(31.98±9.76)for fear of negative evaluation,social avoidance in unfamiliar situations and The differences in social anxiety scores among junior high school students of different grades were not significant(P>0.05);the fear of negative evaluation,social avoidance and distress in unfamiliar situations,social avoidance and distress in general situations,and social anxiety scores among urban junior high school students were all significantly lower than those of rural junior high school students(P<0.05);the fear of negative evaluation,social avoidance and distress in unfamiliar situations,and social anxiety scores among non-only children were all significantly lower than those of rural junior high school students(P<0.05).The total scores of social avoidance and distress in unfamiliar situations,social avoidance and distress in general situations,and social anxiety were all significantly higher among non-only children than among only children(P<0.05);the difference in social anxiety scores among junior high school students with different family economic status was not significant(P>0.05).3.Childhood maltreatment was negatively related to feelings of safety and friendship quality and positively related to social anxiety;feelings of safety were positively related to friendship quality and negatively related to social anxiety.The effect of safety and friendship quality in the chain between childhood abuse and social anxiety was 0.054,accounting for 14.75% of the total effect.The mediated effect of friendship quality between childhood trauma and social anxiety was 0.130,accounting for35.52% of the total effect;the mediated effect of security and friendship quality in the chain between childhood trauma and social anxiety was 0.012,accounting for 3.28% of the total effect.5.The post-tests of companionship and recreation,intimate disclosure and communication were all higher in the intervention group than in the control group(P<0.05);the post-tests of social avoidance and distress in unfamiliar situations and social avoidance and distress in general situations were all lower in the intervention group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.The relationship between childhood trauma and social anxiety in junior high school students was influenced by the independent mediating effect of security and friendship quality,and the chain mediating effect of security and friendship quality.2.The group psychological intervention could effectively improve the level of friendship quality and reduce the level of social anxiety in junior high school students. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Social anxiety, Child abuse, Sense of security, Friendship quality | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
