With the continuous development of the world,the translation of foreign literature shows a growing vitality.People from different countries feel different cultures,ideas and philosophy of life from foreign literature.Meanwhile,foreign literature also encourage generations of translators to devote themselves to literary translation.The source language text of this translation practice report is excerpted from Fishing Notes which is one of the famous works written by the Russian writer called ?????? ??????????.The content of the book is mostly derived from the translator's personal experience and practical experience,and belongs to the memoir of natural ecological literature.The language expression of this book is quite light,concise and full of tastes.Under the guidance of the functional equivalence theory,this translation practice report focuses on the problems encountered by the translator in translating the text and the ways to solve them.Through analyzing the examples in the text,this practice report explains the important guiding significance of Eugene Nida's theory of functional equivalence in literary translation from four levels: The vocabulary level mainly expounds the use of words addition,words exchange,and Chinese characters idioms;The syntactic level mainly discusses the separation and merging of sentences and the obedience and inversion of word order;On the rhetoric level,the processing of the comparative sentence and the expression of the contrast technique are emphasized.The punctuation levels use ellipsis and parentheses as examples to analyze the retention and modification of ellipsis,the processing of bracketed text,and the use of brackets.This translation practice report aims to classify the problems encountered by translators in the process of translating Russian novels through translationcase analysis,then provide for other translators.This translation report also hopes the translator enable to deeply understand the important role played by functional equivalence theory through the equivalence between the function and content of the text.
