Although Chinese and Japanese are two different languages, the Chinese and Japanese vocabularies have an inseparable relationship based on the Chinese characters existing in the two languages.Vocabulary written with the same Chinese characters in both languages is called a Chinese and Japanese homomorphic word. These homographs are not only a bridge for Chinese-speaking Japanese learners in learning Japanese, but also a place where misuse is more likely to occur. This article takes the textbooks "New Territories Standard Japanese Comprehensive Course"(1)4used by undergraduates of East China Normal University in Japanese learning as the object, and extracts the two-character Chinese-Japanese homographs included in the textbook.Differences of meaning are used as the basis of classification.Homomorphic words are classified into three types: homomorphic synonyms, homomorphic words, and homographs. The number and actual distribution of the three types of homomorphic words are counted. Then, from the perspectives of part-of-speech,co-initiation and collocation, vocabulary’s derogatory feelings and self-corresponding relations, the homomorphic words are analyzed individually to examine the differences beyond the semantic differences in the two languages. Finally, the vocabulary in the above analysis is sorted out,and a questionnaire on homomorphic words is designed. From the perspective of meaning scope,part-of-speech,co-initiative and collocation, pejorative emotion of vocabulary, and the corresponding relationship of self-explanation,to investigate learners’ learning of homomorphic words. The questionnaire survey was conducted for the third and fourth grades of East China Normal University.Through the analysis of homographs in the textbook, the differences between Chinese and Japanese are clarified. In addition, the results of the questionnaire confirmed the influence of the five differences in the above analysis on the acquisition of homographs by Chinese native speakers.
