This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of The Rise of the Sharing Economy(Chapter 6).The book attempts to examine the business phenomenon of the sharing economy with ranges of topics involved,aiming to inspire more discussion and solutions faced by the sharing economy,which is of great value for future research in relevant field.The source text is an academic text,whose function is to convey academic information and provide valuable reference to readers,with features of professional terms,accurate information and logic coherence.Therefore,in the translation,the source text must be transferred accurately and completely,while considering its readability and writing style.Based on the translation practice of The Rise of the Sharing Economy(Chapter 6),this report mainly discusses the problems and solutions encountered in the translation process under the guidance of Communicative Translation Theory.The case analysis mainly focuses on three perspectives: accuracy in target language,readability in target language and standardization in stylistic rules and layout,aiming to explore practical strategies and skills for Chinese translation of academic texts under the guidance of Communicative Translation Theory.In order to render an accurate,smooth and natural version of the original text as well as achieving the effects of information delivery,principles of accuracy,readability and standardization are followed,methods such as amplification,omission and adaptation are adopted.Through this translation practice,a conclusion can be drawn that Newmark's Communicative Translation Theory is of great guiding significance in academic texts translation.Under the guidance of this theory,most of the difficulties encountered in the translation have been successfully solved.In conclusion,the information function of the source text is reproduced,and the purpose of information communication is realized.
