| In recent years,college students feel different levels of loneliness.Loneliness has gradually become an important factor that can not be ignored to affect the development of College Students’ mental health.Previous studies have shown that life events may be one of the important factors leading to loneliness of college students.This study will focus on the specific mechanism of life events affecting loneliness through rumination,social avoidance and distress.In this study,more than 700 college students were investigated by using the methods of questionnaire and qualitative interview,and using ASLEC,RRS,SAD and UCLA as research tools The relationship between life events and loneliness,and further use of qualitative semi-structured interviews to test the specific mechanism of the relationship between the two,in-depth mining the specific impact of life events on loneliness.The results of this study are as follows:(1)There are significant differences in the aspects of gender,grade,family location and student cadres.Ruminant thinking,social avoidance and distress have significant differences in gender,grade and student cadres.There are significant differences in the sense of loneliness in terms of gender and student cadres.(2)There is a positive correlation between life events,rumination,social avoidance,distress and loneliness.(3)Life events of college students have a significant positive predictive effect on ruminant thinking,social avoidance,distress and loneliness;ruminant thinking has a significant positive predictive effect on social avoidance,distress and loneliness;social avoidance and distress have a significant positive predictive effect on loneliness.(4)Ruminant thinking plays a part of mediating role between College Students’ life events and loneliness.Life events can indirectly affect loneliness through ruminant thinking.The indirect effect is 0.20,accounting for 62.6% of the total effect.Social avoidance and distress also play a part of mediating role between College Students’ life events and loneliness.Life events can indirectly affect loneliness through social avoidance and distress The indirect effect is 0.09,accounting for 29.3% of the total effect;ruminant thinking,social avoidance and distress played a chain mediating role between life events and loneliness.College students’ life events explained 5.75% of the variation of loneliness through ruminant thinking,social avoidance and distress.(5)Referring to previous studies,based on the quantitative investigation and qualitative interviews,this paper further explores the specific mechanism of College Students’ life events,ruminant thinking,social avoidance and distress on loneliness.Through semi-structured interviews,we found that the impact of College Students’ life events on loneliness is mainly reflected in emotional depression and helplessness.At the same time,life events can induce individual ruminant thinking,social avoidance and distress behaviors and emotions,and eventually lead to individual loneliness. |
