A Report On Interpreting Practice At 2018 Shijiazhuang International Fair For Investment And Cooperation

With the development of the world economy and the acceleration of globalization,trades between regions and countries are becoming closer and closer.Besides,there have appeared more and more economic platforms based on exhibitions.Based on the author's interpreting experience at 2018 Shijiazhuang International Fair for Investment and Cooperation(SIFIC),this report selects some problems he encountered at the Fair,such as incomplete information,ambiguous information,and redundant information,and offers the solutions to them.The report is divided into four parts: Chapter I introduces the background of the practice;Chapter II mainly expounds the process of interpreting including pre-interpreting preparation,on-site interpreting task,and post-interpreting evaluations;Chapter III briefs the essence of the Relevance Theory including inferential-ostensive model,contextual effect and optimal relevance,and analyzes the problems which appeared in the author's practice by adopting amplification,simplification and paraphrasing with the guidance of the Relevance Theory;Chapter IV is the conclusion of this report,summing up the author's experience and putting forward relevant suggestions which will help to motivate himself for future study.Besides,the author also expects this report may have a positive effect on other interpreters and researchers who are working on such similar interpreting work in their further studies.
