With the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative,China has witnessed rapid development in its tourism industry.Shenyang Palace Museum,located in Liaoning province,has presented a mixed construction style of different ethnic groups and obvious traditional Manchu features.Therefore,an increasing number of tourists from home and abroad have come to China to visit.This paper is a report on escort interpreting practice,which mainly studies the author's interpreting experience in Shenyang Palace Museum.This interpreting task required the author to visit Shenyang Palace Museum with the foreign client and interpret the history and cultural knowledge for her.The purpose of this paper is to conclude the real case during this interpreting experience,study the interpreting tactics guided by the relevance theory,and then apply the relevance theory to future interpreting practices.This paper can be divided into five chapters.Chapter one explains the interpreting task description including the background,purpose,and significance of this interpreting task,as well as the literature review.Chapter two illustrates the interpreting task process,which includes task preparation,on-site interpreting,and post-task evaluation.Chapter three is the main part of this paper,which mainly studies the relevance theory and its application to real cases during the interpreting task.Chapter four focuses the reflections on this interpreting task,and chapter five includes the conclusion of this paper and the expectations for future interpreting practices.
