An Idiom is a fixed phrase with a qualitative structure and meaning in a language that has been formed as a result of the long-term convention.The main characteristics of idioms are structural constancy and integrity in meaning;they have distinctive national and cultural features that fully reflect the unique psychological structure,way of thinking,aesthetic taste and even the system of values of the nation.Chinese idiom is like a bright pearl in Chinese language and Chinese culture,and one of the key difficult points in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This article compares Chinese and Kyrgyz idioms and the teaching of Chinese idioms to Kyrgyz native speakers.Based on a comparison of main characteristics,sources,grammatical structures and rhetoric of Chinese idioms and Kyrgyz idioms,this article explores methods of Chinese idioms teaching to Kyrgyz language native speakers.This article consists of seven chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,presenting the reasons for choosing a thesis and the status of the research,the objectives of the research and the research methods.The second chapter defines the area of comparison of Chinese and Kyrgyz idioms and their main characteristics.The third chapter analyzes the sources of Chinese and Kyrgyz idioms.The fourth chapter analyzes the syntactic structure and function of Chinese idioms and Kyrgyz idioms.The fifth chapter analyzes the rhetorical and rhythmic forms of Chinese idioms and Kyrgyz idioms.The sixth chapter examines the problems that exist in teaching Chinese idioms for Kyrgyz language native speakers,and proposing practical teaching methods of Chinese idioms for Kyrgyz native speakers based on analyses of the similarities and differences between Chinese idioms and Kyrgyz idioms in previous chapters.The seventh chapter is a conclusion summarizing the main content and conclusions of this research,pointing out the shortcomings of this research.
