Among various environmental issues,climate change should be the most urgent one.However,what influence does it produce on the surrounding environment and all the living creatures and how? The translation materials are excerpted from Early Spring by Amy Seidl.From a microscopic perspective,the source text shows what the influences that climate change has brought to human beings,environment and animals and plants through the observation and research on the living environment and behaviors of common species.The source text has not yet been fully translated so far.This translation practice is completed under the guidance of communicative translation theory.According to Newmark,all texts can be divided into six types,three of them are emphasized,that is,informative text,expressive text and vocative text.Based on this categorization,Newmark proposed semantic translation and communicative translation.This report firstly discusses the possible difficulties and problems that may appear in the process of translation through an analysis of popular science writings and an introduction to the communicative translation theory.In addition,a series of case studies from different aspects,including conveying the original information,expressing in fluent language and achieve a similar reader reaction,are given to show how difficulties and problems encountered in translation are solved under the guidance of communicative translation theory. |
