Abstract/Summary:
Climate change,crises of which have different impacts on different regions,is an eternal topic of common concern to all mankind.The coastal areas are highly vulnerable to climate change and climate-driven impacts.Many experts and scholars at home and abroad have carried out a lot of related research on how to deal with the issue of climate change,but there are few Chinese translations on how to solve the problem of climate adaptability.Therefore,the author chose Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Strategies for Coastal Communities as the source text of translation,which has a certain practical significance.This report is based on the translation of Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Strategies for Coastal Communities.It consists of four chapters.Chapter One is the task description,including the introduction of the source text,features of the source text and task background and significance.Chapter Two introduces the translation process,including the author’s pre-translation preparation,time arrangement and quality control.Chapter Three is the case analysis,which mainly analyzed the translation of professional terms,proper nouns,complex long sentences and passive sentences with specific examples from the perspective of Skopos Theory.In the process of translation,according to the characteristics of the original text,the author used the translation strategies of literal translation and free translation as well as the translation skills of word meaning extension,sequencing,splitting and reversing.Chapter Four lists the author’s reflections and the unsolved problems in translation practice.The author hopes to improve her translation ability through this translation practice and provide reference for the translation of such scientific texts.
