The communication between China and foreign countries is increasingly close, and sometimes there are some conflicts and frictions among them because of different political systems, cultural differences and other factors,so it is important to understand different cultures and political systems.Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,a new book published by American writer Michael Wolff in 2018,details events related to Trump, presenting many political factors and cultural knowledge. The translation practice report selects author's note, prologue and chapter one as the source text. The translation of the book contributes to understanding different cultures and political systems. The translation practice report takes Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory as the guidance, and is analyzed from three levels: lexical, syntactic and textual, which aims at the linguistic factors such as proper nouns, common words, attributive clauses, parenthesis, paragraphs and dialogues.Under the guidance of Functional Equivalence Theory,in order to achieve the equivalence between English and Chinese, cultural background and political knowledge should be combined in the process of translation. The practice proves that Functional Equivalence Theory can guide the translation of political texts and meet the requirements of different kinds of readers.Under the Functional Equivalence Theory, translators can make better works and readers can get better reading experience.Knowledge and information can be more effectively disseminated.Figure 0;Table 4;Reference 32...
