With the rapid development of social economy and the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,the hotel service industry has become one of the most influential industries in modern society.How to better use the hotel revenue management system is an important hotel management task.This translation task uses Hotel Revenue Management: from Theory to Practice as the specific translation material to discuss the translation of professional vocabularies and suggested sentences in the text of hotel revenue management.The selected translation materials mainly explain the hotel revenue management factors such as hotel pricing,how to differentiate pricing and deal with overbooking and overselling.It involves a large number of hotel revenue management vocabularies and suggestive sentences.They are the main difficulties in the translation process.This report uses the translation norm theory to specifically discuss the guiding role of chapter language norms and acceptability norms in the translation of hotel revenue management texts,providing a certain reference for the translation of hotel revenue management vocabularies and suggested sentences.This report focuses on the analysis of vocabulary and sentence translation.At the vocabulary level,in accordance with the textual language norms,it is adopted that a method of selecting economic professional abbreviations for translation from parallel translations and semantically adjusting the translation of revenue management industry language.At the sentence level,referring to the acceptability specification,the translation of the“if” condition hypothesis suggestive sentence into a Chinese compound sentence,the communicative translation of the suggestive sentence containing the modal verbs,such as “should” and “can”,and the free translation of the suggestive imperative sentence method.This translation practice report discusses the translation of hotel revenue management,with a view to providing some reference and inspiration for economic text translation.
