During the period of the Republic of China,China experienced social transformation and invasion of foreign enemies.At the same time,due to the influence of western learning to the east,many talents of the era appeared.Ma Juntu was one of them.In the 25 th year of Jiaqing,Ma Juntu's great-grandfather Ma Tianbao who was originally from Guyuan,Ningxia,came to Jincheng,Shanxi,with the camel team,and then got married and had children in Jincheng.Ma Juntu was an official and a national educator during the period of the Republic of China.He studied in the UK in the early days,then he returned to China after the 1911 Revolution and took an official post.This article attempts to find out,collect and sort out relevant materials of Ma Juntu,comprehensively understand Ma Juntu's life and educational contributions show the social situation of his period.After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War,Ma Juntu actively participated in the anti-Japanese activities and waged hard struggles with the enemy.The school he established by himself was destroyed,but he continued to teach students during the escape.Later,the Anti-Japanese and National Salvation Association was formed,he called on all the country's compatriots to unite and fight against the enemy.After being arrested,he was unyielding and refused the temptation of the enemy.His whole family finally died for the country.And his descendants also inherited the good tradition and continued to fight for national liberation.Ma Juntu was enthusiastic about national education and established a school in an attempt to resolve the situation of ethnic backwardness ideologically.As a national educator,Ma Juntu saw the backwardness of the social education level at that t ime and decided to set up a school to recruit students,trying to contribute to the cause of social education through your own efforts.In addition,he also subsidized scholars' in-depth academic research at his own expense,selling off his family properties to purchase equipment for the school for improving the school-running level.Ma Juntu had read a lot of books and poems and had a profound traditional cultural literacy.Though he was often busy with government affairs,he was still fascinated by the creation of literary works,especially the collection of poems.This article attempts to understand Ma Juntu's attainments of Chinese traditional culture and his thoughts expressed in his works through the introduction and interpretation of his works.
