Translation Practice Report Of The Ethics Of Freshwater Use : A Survey

Water is the basis of human civilization.In recent years,the international cooperation and academic exchange activities in the field of water culture research has become more and more frequent.Research on water ethics has shown a booming trend.Under the academic background of the start of the study of contemporary water ethics in China.The translation of the series of books on Water and Ethics draws on the research achievements of western water ethics.It's the momentous significance for promoting the research in the field of Chinese water ethics and establishing the value system of Chinese water ethics.Therefore,this translation practice report selects a report in the water and ethics series as translation practice materials,and makes an in-depth analysis of translation strategies of The ethics of Freshwater Use: A Survey on the basis of Nida's theory of functional equivalence.The translation practice report is comprised of the following four parts.The first part is the description of the translation task,including the background and significance of the project.The second part is the introduction of the translation process.In the third part,the author analyzes the difficulties in translation and introduces the theoretical basis for resolving conflicts.Then the author conducts a case study,introducing four different translation methods and corresponding examples.In the fourth part,the author summarizes the translation tasks,including the limitations and suggestions of translation and the reflection on translation practice.The full text is expected to be completed under the guidance of functional equivalence theory.In the case analysis part,the author selects four different translation methods to cope with the cases.Based on functional equivalence theory,the author selects type sentences with characteristics from the source text,translates them by these methods and analyzes them.In the last part,the author summarizes the difficulties and solutions that should be paid attention to in translation.The author hopes that this thesis can provide some reference for similar translation practice.
