Hulegu Expedition

In the middle of the 13 th century,with the order of the Mongol empire's ruler Mongke Khan,Hulegu led the Mongolian soilders to launch a new round of western military expeditions,also called Western Expedition of Hulegu(1256-1260).This Mongolian expedition is the last large-scale expedition before the Mongol Empire officially declares division.Just cost five years,Hulegu led his arm attacked the Isma'iliyya at first,then went to west to destory the Abbasid regime,and finally ended the rule of the the family of Ayyubid in Syria.Hulegu took Tabriz as the capital and established Ilkhanate,which is a military nomadic country,to rule west-asia region.Absolutely,Western Expedition of Hulegu is a injustice aggression and expansion.In the conquest,the Mongols attacked the city,killed millions of innocent people,rushing into the farming world with means of violence,also bringing immeasurable damage to economic production and cultural development in west-asia.However,after the Mongols took root and settled,they were gradually attracted by Persian and Islamic cultures and merged with the agricultural civilization of west-asia.As regard to the impact of this military expedition,it had a crucial significant in the whole history of the Mongol Empire,it also brings profound significance for the Islamic world and Sino-foreign relations.This dissertation intends to discuss Hulegu westernexpedition in three parts:The first part is mainly discusses the Mongolian empire's conquest in Central and Western Asia before the Hulegu Western Expedition and its administration after Mongols' conquest.The reasons for the determination to launch a new round of the Western Expedition and an overview of the political situation in the unconquered West Asian region of Mongolia.The second part describe the process of Hulegu western expedition from invade Persian to Syria with time clue,then we will discuss about post-war analysis of Mongolian.In terms of the reason about Mongolia's army succeeded in the conqusest.The third part is discuss the deep level impact which was caused by the third western expedition of Mongol Empire,by analyzing the negative and positive aspects.Describes the reconstruction and management of West Asia under the rule of Ilkhanate.In order to better adapt to local rule,Ilkhan began the process of Islamizing the country,finally became the heir of Islamic civilization.Meanwhile,it was stated that the Mongolians take on the bridge between communication of East and West,and made great contributions to the prosperity of East and West cultures,the expansion of human contacts,as well as the expansion of Asia-Europe trade.
