| At the beginning of the thirteenth century,Genghis Khan ended the long-term disputes and chaotic divisions of various Mongolian ministries by means of war and unified the Mongolian plateau. After the reunification, the Mongol Empire was vast and its military power was strong. Then it launched a war of aggression against neighboring countries. In 1219,the Mongol Empire began the first Western Expedition to open up the territory with the excuse of the "Otrar Event" of the Mongolian messengers and merchants killed by the king of Khwarezmia. In just a few short years from 1219 to 1225,the Mongol Empire not only perished Khwarezmia, but also invaded many other places in Central Asia and West Asia at the time, and even reached the eastern part of Europe. The first Western Expedition of the Mongol Empire was an unjust aggression and looting war.During the war,the Mongolian army carried out a brutal killing and plundering policy against the people in the conquered areas, which had a great destructive effect on the local economy and culture. However, from the perspective of the development of world history, the first Western Expedition of the Mongol Empire also played a positive role. The Mongolian Empire promoted exchanges between East Asia and Central Asia,West Asia, the Mediterranean coast and Europe, and is beneficial to the development of world civilization. This paper is divided into four aspects. The first part explains the situation before the first Western Expedition of the Mongol Empire. It mainly introduces the integration of the Mongolian Empire by Genghis Khan, the establishment of the Khwarezmia Empire, and the "Otrar Event" that directly triggered the war.The second part deals with the specific process of the first Western Expedition of the Mongol Empire, including the demise of the Khwarezmia Empire, the invasion of Persians by the Mongols, and the passage of the Apostles and the Afghan. The third part analyzes the reasons why the Mongolian Empire won the first Western Expedition and Khwarezmia lost the war.The fourth part analyzes the bloody killings and mad plunders of the first Western Expedition of the Mongol Empire in the conquered areas, the early rule of the Mongols in Central Asia and West Asia, and the influence of the first Western Expedition of the Mongol Empire. |
