Wang Xing,his courtesy name was Zhi Zhong,known by his literary name Ban Xuan,born in Wu county.Wang Xing lived in the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty.He experienced the regime change of the end of the Yuan Dynasty,the rule of ZhangWu,and the dynasty change of Zhu Ming Dynasties,which showed the living style and spiritual state of the literati in wu during the turmoil.Wang Xing was an important member of Beiguo Poetry Society,which was the most active at that time.He was good at poetry,and his article was a little better.Siku officials had a high evaluation of Wang Xing.They thought that Wang Xing and Gao Qi could be regarded as the strong enemies among the ten sons of Beiguo.At the same time,they praised Wang Xing’s writings and made him a generation of genius.Wang Xing had twelve volumes of Ban Xuan Ji,two volumes of Supplements and four volumes of Tomb Inscription Examples.This paper is divided into four chapters to study Wang Xing and his poetry and prose.The first chapter is about Wang Xing’s life and works.First of all,it clarifies his family background,native place and main life course.This chapter divides Wang Xing’s experience into three periods: Learning in his early years,joining the Beiguo Poetry Society and teaching,living in seclusion in his later years and seeking a job in the capital.Combed his life trace one by one.Secondly,the editions of Wang Xing’s works such as Ban Xuan Ji collection and Tomb Inscription Examples are sorted out,and discusse its spread situation.Finally,the communication between Wang Xing and the members of Beiguo Poetry Society,Shen Wansan’s family and the doctors is examined in detail.And emphatically analyze their influence on Wang Xing’s literature and life.The second chapter mainly studies Wang Xing’s literary concept.This paper discusses Wang Xing’s poetic theory and prose theory,and probes into his attitude towards literary creation by combining his works such as Ban Xuan Ji and Tomb Inscription Examples.Wang Xing believes that poetry should praise Wei Liu,advocate nature and direct temperament,while prose should be gentle,clear and ancient,self-seeing and expressive.At the same time,he also puts forward the guidelines for the creation of tomb inscriptions,which provided a writing example for later generations.The third chapter specifically studies the content and general style of Wang Xing’s poems.According to the content,Wang Xing’s nearly 100 poems are divided into several categories,such as description of scenery,gifting and farewell,and description of feelings,etc.Poetry in general presents a simple and elegant style.The fourth chapter discusses Wang Xing’s prose classification and summarizes its artistic characteristics.According to the style,Wang Xing’s prose can be divided into four categories: recording style,preface style,discussing style and epitaph.His prose is characterized by a variety of ways of expression,a flexible atmosphere,a myriad of ways of expression and plain and fluent language.At last,the thesis summarizes Wang Xing’s position in poetry and its influence on the later Wuzhong school,Gongan School and other literary schools,trying to enrich the cognition of Wang Xing’s poetry and dig its literary value.
