Objective: To explore the feasibility and effectiveness of replacing the commonly used subjective well-being as a positive indicator with the covitality to construct a two-factor model of middle school students' mental health,and to track the data of the two-factor model,so as to evaluate the application of the model.Methods: Using the Social and Emotional Health Scale(Secondary School Version),Delaware Campus Atmosphere Scale(Student Version),Chinese Simplified Version of Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale,Life Satisfaction Scale,and Positive and Negative Affect Schedule(PANAS)to 766 Hunan Middle school students conduct a1-year follow-up survey.Results:(1)The comprehensive vitality index can significantly predict students' subjective well-being;subjective well-being indicators have stronger predictive power on students' academic performance;the two-factor model of middle school students' mental health,which is constructed with the new psychological positive quality indicators-the comprehensive vitality of social and emotional health and the depression and anxiety stress,is better than the single-factor model and the two-factor model with subjective well-being as the positive index.(2)The proportion of the quartile was similar to the results of domestic and international studies,with the highest proportion of people with complete mental health and the lowest proportion of people with symptoms but satisfied.Transformation results: The complete healthy group had the highest stability,the susceptible group and the disease group maintained a moderate degree of stability,and the symptomatic group was the most unstable.On the positive index score: completely healthy people> susceptible group>sick patients,there is no significant difference between completely healthy people and symptomatic but satisfied;symptomatic but satisfied> susceptible> diseased group.On the negative index score: completely healthy people<susceptible group< sick patients,there is no significant difference between sick patients and symptomatic but satisfied.On the campus atmosphere score: completely healthy people> susceptible group> sick patients,there is no significant difference between completely healthy people and symptomatic but satisfied.In terms of academic performance: completelyhealthy people> susceptible group> sick patients,there is no significant difference between completely healthy people and symptomatic but satisfied.On the subjective happiness scores: completely healthy people> susceptible group and symptomatic but satisfied > sick patients,there is no significant difference between completely susceptible group and symptomatic but satisfied.(4)All factors of campus atmosphere perceived by students can positively predict the comprehensive energy level of unchanged group,better group and variation group.Among them,the perception of campus security can produce significant positive predictive force on the comprehensive vitality level of the deteriorating group and the improving group;Student-perceived campus bullying can positively predict the level of symptoms of mental illness in students.Conclusion:(1)It is feasible to establish a two-factor model of mental health in middle school students with comprehensive vitality as a positive index.(2)The quartering method of the two-factor model of middle school students' mental health can effectively identify young people with different mental health conditions,which helps educators' pay attention to the previously neglected groups with the risk of being marginalized,and provides valuable experience for improving the mental health education in schools and promoting the development of the strategy of building a healthy China.(3)The change stories of the four categories of people are affected by the campus environment.Campus safety level and campus bullying have a profound effect on the health psychology of middle school students.
