Classroom education plays a vital role in helping students master a new language,and for foreign students who start learning Chinese,preparatory language learning is a solid foundation for their higher education in China.In the process of learning a language,students need to master four skills,including listening,speaking,reading,and writing."Listening" as a primary skill can improve the self-confidence and learning efficiency of preparatory students.However,how to evaluate students' listening ability is still unclear at present,and teachers are confused about the teaching content of listening skills in the school.In order to make better use of textbooks effectively and purposefully in training students,helping them master the skills of communication and then successfully pass the final exam,this article investigates the current use of students' listening strategies.This investigation conducts research based on learning strategy theory and Mr.Yang Huiyuan's eight listening micro-skills theories.The two share some commonalities in the actions adopted to improve students' listening ability.In addition to eight listening microskills,this article also discusses skill of jumping obstacles and grasping keyword,as the ninth microskill.This article selects students from three preparatory classes of the International Cultural Exchange College of Central China Normal University as the research object.The questionnaire is designed based on real teaching experience and observations,and its purpose is to study the use of listening learning strategies and micro skills.This article uses datas to analyze the relationship between strategy use and listening performance,then compares the differences between high-scoring group and low-scoring group.We hope it can propose suggestions for teachers and students based on the current use of strategies.According to the content,four sections are included in this article:We explain the reason why we choose this topic in the first part.And the introduction part also contains the content and research significance of the whole passage.This article discusses the difficulties encountered by foreign students in the process of listening,and puts forward the importance of studying Chinese listening strategies according to the existing problems.The second part is chapter two,discussing the current status of listening strategy research inside and ouside China.Starting from the definition and classification of listening learning strategies,the importance of the listening comprehension process is further emphasized.After analyzing the current status of listening strategy research,the problem existing in preparatory students learning and strategy teaching is proposed.This part is also the theoretical basis of this article.The third part is the main part of the article,including the content of chapters three to five.Chapter three introduces the survey object,content and the basis of the questionnaire design,then verifies its reliability index.Chapter four discusses the overall use of listening strategies,the performance statistics,the correlation and regressiveness of listening strategies and listening performance,and the differences in the use of strategies between high and low score groupings.After that,the problems obtained in four major aspects were analyzed and researched in order to know the possible causes and countermeasures.According to the conclusion,among the three major learning strategies,social/affective strategies are significantly positively correlated with the achievement of preparatory students,and metacognitive strategies are positively correlated.Cognitive strategies are generally negatively related to performance.The more strategies related with mother tongue are used,the worse students' performance will be.Micro skills are basically consistent with cognitive strategies.High-scoring group is better at using listening micro skills,especially in the skill of jumping obstacles and keywords.The fourth part includes chapter five teaching suggestions and chapter six conclusion.Two suggestions are put forward based on the research results.For students,they should develop a sense of strategy use throughout the listening process,for teachers,they should consider how to improve teaching methods efficiently throughout the training process.In Chapter five we summarize the whole text.
