Family Power And Employees' Daily Work Vigor And Proactive Behavior | Posted on:2021-04-14 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:J H Cui | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2415330605474948 | Subject:Applied psychology | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Family power refers to the ability of an individual to exert expected influences on other family members in the family relationship.Based on conservation of resource theory and work-family enrichment theory,this study examined the positive influence of family power on employees' performance(daily work vigor and proactive behavior)and its underlining mechanism.This paper used an experience-sampling method to conduct a diary study using 114 married employees across 10 consecutive working days.The multi-level regression analysis showed that employees' family power positively relates to work-family interpersonal capitalization.As anticipated,work-family interpersonal capitalization mediates the effect of employee family power and work performance(daily work vigor and proactive behavior).Furthermore,employees' family motivation cross-level moderates the positive relationship between family power and work vigor or proactive behavior via work-family interpersonal capitalization,such that when employees'family motivation is high,the indirect effect of work-family interpersonal capitalization is strong.This study on the relationship between employees' family power and daily work vigor and proactive behavior provides theoretical insights to identify positivity-oriented human resource strengths and psychological capacities that can promote work performance in dynamic organizational contexts.Furthermore,this study also expands the research of work-family facilitation and enriches theoretical guidance for dual-earner family employees to manage their work and family responsibilities. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Family power, work-family interpersonal capitalization, family motivation, work vigor, proactive behavior | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
