Study On Qian Warlords In The Period Of The Republic Of China(1912-1935)

Guizhou is located in the southwest,historically free from central politics.After the Republic of China,the warlords seized power and the North and South confronted each other.Both sides wanted to pull the Southwest warlords into their own camp.Among the southwest warlords,the Yunnan and Sichuan systems have the strongest strength,and the Guizhou system is weak.The north and south sides attempted to open a gap in the southwest region from the Qian system,and Guizhou became a microcosm of the North-South struggle.Chiang Kai-shek established the Nanjing National Government,provoked the warlords of the Qian system to eventually rule Guizhou in the name of gangsters.This article attempts to start from a military perspective,discuss the causes of the Qian warlords and the battle between military generals,and then analyze its impact on the political,economic,and cultural aspects of Guizhou.The reasons for the formation of Guizhou warlords are complicated.The holding of regiment exercises in the late Qing dynasty led to the expansion of local power;the preparation of the new army led to the initial formation of the Guizhou military group;the abolition of the imperial examination system blocked the road to the advancement of traditional society,and the social status of soldiers who were on the political edge was rapidly improved;The deterioration of the people's living environment has promoted the military upsurge,and various factors have objectively promoted the formation of Guizhou warlords.The struggle between military generals during the Republic of China period reflected the competition between the north and south forces in Guizhou.The centripetal accumulation and centrifugal tendency of the warlords in Guizhou was due to the contradictions driven by the feudal nature of the warlords and nationalism in their hearts.Under the rule of warlords,various military generals in Guizhou used democratic polities to seize the power of military and political power,causing rampant localism and seriously hindering the political modernization process in Guizhou;huge taxes were used to expand the military and enjoyment by individuals,which could not be converted into social wealth for economic construction The army lacks discipline,the soldiers and bandits are indiscriminate,and the soldiers and bandits are collusive.It has become a"cancer" that endangers Guizhou society;under the national tide of modernization,the warlords of the Qian family have to take actions that are conducive to the development of Guizhou's education,transportation and other undertakings.,But its active construction is limited after all.Explore the relationship between the Qian Army and Guizhou society from the perspectives of politics,economy,and culture,and understand the tortuous development of Guizhou's modernization under the warlord system.
