| With the rise of positive psychology,Leader Humor provides a new research direction for the leadership with positive tendency of humor.Foreign scholars also began to study Leader Humor earlier and obtained certain research results.Leader Humor refers to leaders who intend to entertain a particular subordinate or team by sharing interesting things(Pundt &Herrmann,2015).Previous studies have shown that leaders’ positive humor can enhance subordinates’ leadership identification,subjective well-being and emotional commitment,reduce their emotional exhaustion and reduce their sense of social distance.While offensive humor will reduce the work efficiency of subordinates and increase their deviant behaviors.The research on humorous leadership in China is in its infancy,and empirical studies are scarce.Therefore,this study is based on the situation of Chinese organizational culture to investigate the situational effectiveness of Leader Humor.At the same time,the relationship between Leader Humor and voice behavior and the mediating role of emotional commitment are discussed.In this study,358 employees of enterprises and public institutions in Henan and Beijing were investigated by questionnaire,to explore the relationship between humorous leadership and voice behavior,emotional commitment and Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment.SPSS20.0 was used to process and analyze the data,and the conclusions are as follows:(1)There was a significant positive correlation between affiliative Leader Humor and employees’ emotional commitment and voice behavior.There was a significant positive correlation between affective commitment and voice behavior.There was a significant negative correlation between aggressive Leader Humor and employees’ emotional commitment and voice behavior.(2)Affective commitment plays a mediating role between affiliative Leader Humor and voice behavior,while affective commitment plays a mediating role between aggressive Leader Humor and voice behavior.(3)The Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between affiliative Leader Humor and affective commitment(β=0.160,p <0.001),that is,the higher the Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment,the stronger the positive relationship between affiliative Leader Humor and affective commitment of employees.Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between aggressive Leader Humor and emotional commitment,that is,the higher the Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment is,the stronger the negative relationship between attack humorous leadership and employee emotional commitment is.(4)Affiliative Leader Humor、voice behavior、emotional commitment and Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment constitute a mediated moderator model,and Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment moderates the first half of the mediation process;aggressive Leader Humor,voice behavior emotional commitment and Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment constitute a mediated moderator model,and Supervisor’s Organizational Embodiment moderates the first half of the mediation process.Based on the investigation of Leader Humor,this paper verifies its positive role in promoting employees’ voice behavior,and considers the inhibition of aggressive humor.It expands the research results of Leader Humor in the fields of positive psychology and human resource management,and also enriches the empirical research on Leader Humor in China.At the same time,it also provides a theoretical and practical basis for easing the pressure of organizational citizenship and promoting employees’ voice behavior. |
