Chinese Translation Practice Report Of Financial And Economic News From The Perspective Of Skopos Theory

This report is based on the translator’s experience of translating the essays from The Economist.In the process of translation,the author translated the financial and economic news in The Economist in August 2018 based on the skopos theory.According to the purpose principle,the coherence principle,the fidelity principle and the loyalty principle,special translation methods and skills were adopted to make the translation more accurate.The report analyses the problems in the lexical level,syntactic level and textual level in The Economist,and discusses the application and guidance of the Skopos Theory to the translation of English financial and economic news.Finally,the writer sums up the gains and harvest of this translation practice.Through this report,the author concludes that in the translation practice,the translator should analyze the original text and clarify the purpose of the original text.Then,instead of sticking to the original format and using one translation method,the translator can combine various translation methods and translation techniques to achieve the purpose of translation practice.This report is hoped to have the theoretical and practical value in improving the quality of English financial and economic news translation.
