In junior high school English teaching,writing teaching is always the most difficult part.The new English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017edition)has put forward a series of new requirements concerning English writing teaching and students' English writing abilities.English teaching in senior high schools sets directions for that of junior high schools.So these new requirements also adapt to English teaching in junior high schools.As a new classroom model,flipped classroom provides inspirations and ideas for the reform of English curriculum.Based on the present situation of flipped classroom and junior high school English writing teaching,this research aims at exploring whether flipped classroom can improve students' English writing abilities and methods of teaching English writing more effectively in junior high schools through applying flipped classroom in junior high school English writing teaching.This research adopted the research methods combining quantitative research and qualitative research.In the process of implementation,the methods mainly consisted of questionnaire,interview and experimentation.For convenience of investigation and sampling,the author carried out the questionnaire among students and teachers from eight junior high schools in different areas of Zibo city in order to to find out the present situation of flipped classroom and junior high school English writing teaching as well as influential factors.Meanwhile,the author chose 90 students from Zhoucun No.3 Middle School in which the author worked to take part in the teaching experiment.They were divided into two groups with 45 students in each group.The author designed before class,in class and after class learning tasks and activities to help students learn to write.Then the author compared the writing scores of these two groups in order to to find out the influence of flipped classroom on the students' writing abilities.Then the author adopted the method of stratified sampling in the interview among students from the experimental group in order to find out students' acceptance of flipped classroom,the influence of flipped classroom on English writing and aspects that needed to be improved in later teaching experiment.After relative surveys and researches,the author finds out that writing teaching is becoming more and more important in junior high school English teaching.This requires teachers to explore new teaching models to promote the development of writing teaching.The development of the Internet provides flipped classroom with convenient network environment.In order to apply flipped classroom effectively,teachers should select and make adaptions to rich online resources.Meanwhile,they should arrange before class,in class and after class activities properly.Students should be truly considered as the main body of classroom teaching.After the teaching experiment,the students in the experimental group have got great improvement in writing scores.However,for students who have difficulty in learning English,the improvement of scores is not obvious.By means of the horizontal contrast between the students' first drafts,the revised drafts and the final drafts,the author finds that the model of flipped classroom plays an important role in improving the students' ability of organizing language and the comprehensive usage of language.Through this research,the author finds out that applying flipped classroom in junior high school English writing teaching can guide teachers to arrange before-class activities properly,strengthen individual tutoring and train students' autonomous learning ability.In future teaching practices,teachers should pay attention to the reasonable arrangement of learning contents and time at the stage of self study before class,consolidate before class learning contents in the process of classroom teaching and for students who perform inadequately in class,teachers adopt individual teaching in order to protect the students' interest in English studying.However,problems still exist in this research,for example,the number of samples is small which makes the results less objective,etc.These need to be explored and solved in later teaching.
