| Against the background of ever-deepening globalization,cultural exchanges increase exponentially among countries.Foreign films and TV series,taking the advantage of advanced science and technology.become an indispensable part of Chinese people’s daily life and function as a channel of cultural communication.As a result,scholars have attached great importance on film translation and studies on subtitle translation are on the rise.Nevertheless,it is worthy of noticing that the translation of subtitle does not merely suggest the switch between languages.It involves different modalities and the interaction among them.For now,as the studies on subtitle translation.just started several years ago,relevant theoretical frameworks and practices are far from being systematic,implying that a larger number of researches needs to be done.Since subtitle translation involves many factors like language,images,sounds,etc.,this thesis puts forward research perspectives of multimodal discourse analysis based on the integrated framework proposed by Zhang Delu.Then it analyses the subtitles translated in the hit TV series Why Women Kill,on non-linguistic and linguistic dimensions.In the end,it can be concluded that the utilizing the method of multimodal discourse analysis in subtitle translation could help produce fuller and richer meaning,improve the quality of subtitling,expand on the theory regarding translation and improve cross-cultural communication in the end. |
