A Report On The Subtitle Translation Practice Of Why Women Kill Under The Guidance Of Eco-Translatology

This is a report on the English-Chinese subtitle translation of the first season of Why Women Kill launched in 2019.The guiding theory is Eco-Translatology theory.The translator analyzes the adaptation and selection upon the translational eco-environment.This translation project provides proper techniques for future subtitle translation from the perspective of“Three-Dimensional Transformations” principle.In linguistic transformation,the translator adopts the domestication and selects the proper translation techniques at the lexical and syntactic level,including transposition and substitution.In cultural transformation,the translator mainly uses free translation and chooses translation techniques such as amplification and four-character expressions to better convey the connotation of western culture.In communicative transformation,the translator employs free translation and translation techniques such as substitution and use of idioms to convey the communicative intention.The translator concludes that translators can select the translation under the guidance of “Three-Dimensional Transformations” principle for the subtitle translation.
