Global Health Ethics.Key Issues is a publication issued by World Health Organization(WHO)in 2015,aiming to assist policy-makers,health care providers and health ethics researchers to comprehend key concepts in health ethics and identify the existing basic ethical issues on health and health care.Translating this document from English into Chinese is helpful for Chinese enthusiasts in health and ethics who have limited English reading capacity to gain a general understanding of the essential knowledge in this field.However,due to great differences in thinking and expression habits between Chinese and Westerners,the traditional equivalence-oriented translation strategy may be difficult to reproduce some professional information or logical relationships in the original.Different from the traditional translation pattern,Functionalist theorists hold that translation is a purposeful intercultural communication action,and that the selection of methods and strategies in the translation process should be determined by the intended function and purpose of the translated text.This report is designed to explore the translation methods and strategies for Global Health Ethics.Key Issues from the perspective of Functionalist translation theory.This report consists of four parts.The first part introduces the background of this practice,the content of this task and the process of this practice.In the second part,the author analyzes the intended purpose of the original text and summarizes the principles to be followed in translation after reviewing the representative theories of leading figures in Functionalist translation school-In the third part,under the guidance of Skopos principle,Coherence principle and Fidelity principle,the translator explores the translation methods and strategies for Global Health Ethics.Key Issues from three aspects:translation of nominal structures,passive sentences and long and difficult sentences.The fourth part is a summary of the whole report.According to the author's research,Functionalist translation theory has guiding value in the translation of Global Health Ethics.Key Issues.
