Since Cheng Yi and Cheng Hao lectured in Luoyang,Neo-Confucianism gradually took shape.By the Southern Song Dynasty, the Hunan School had gradually taken shape. The purpose of the Hunan school is based on Hu Hong's understanding of mind and nature, which is famous as the inheritance of Hu Hong's disciple Zhang Shi.Zhu Xi once asked Zhang Shi for advice about heart and sex,and the two became lifelong friends.During the discussion with Zhu Xi,Zhang questioned and inherited Hu Hong's views, and thus gradually began to construct his own theoretical system. This paper focuses on the relevant academic issues discussed by Zhu Xi and Zhang Shi and discusses the role of their discussions on the construction of Zhang Shi's theoretical system and the structure of Zhang Shi's theoretical system. The first part mainly introduces The academic inheritance of Zhang Shi and the communication between Zhu Xi and Zhang Shi.Zhang Shi received his father's education in his early years, and in middle age followed his father's advice to Hu Hong.Hu Hong appreciated Zhang's knowledge and asked him to think about benevolence, the core of Confucianism.Although he met Hu Hong only twice,Zhang Shi eventually inherited hu Hong's knowledge. After the death of his teacher,Li Dong,Zhu Xi turned to Zhang Shi for advice on the nature of the heart and became friends with Him.The two men went on to discuss almost all of the core issues of Neo-Confucianism.The second part mainly explores the discussion between Zhu Xi and Zhang Shi on the issue of heaven and Earth.Zhang Shi believes that the origin of the universe runs through emotion before and after its appearance. At the same time,Zhang Shi connected the discussion about the movement or not of the origin of the universe with the discussion about the nature of mind. However,Zhu Xi put forward a new view after reflecting on the nature of mind,so he criticized Zhang Shi's view on whether the origin of the universe was moving or not.In a word,Zhu Xi and Zhang Shi maintained their own characteristics on the question of the origin of the universe. The third part mainly discusses Hu Hong's viewpoint on heart nature and Zhu Xi's influence on Zhang Shi's viewpoint on heart nature.Hu Hong agrees with Cheng Yi on the issue of mind and sets mind against nature, which Zhang Shi initially agrees with. But Zhu Xi has questioned Hu Hong's views since he developed a new understanding of the nature of mind.He believed that the state before emotion is activated is also a psychological activity, and he immediately told Zhang Shi this view.Zhang Shi gradually agreed with Zhu Xi and put forward that the appearance of human nature could be grasped by people's psychological activities. The fourth part mainly explores Zhang Shi's views on how to become a saint after his understanding of the mind has changed.Zhang Shi's understanding of this method also comes from Hu Hong, who believed that one should keep one's conscience when it is presented.Zhang shi also linked the Confucian classic The University with the views of Zhou Yi and Hu Hong.He believed that the core of grasping conscience lies in grasping the humanity behind it.After accepting Zhu Xi's views on the nature of mind,Zhang Shi had a different view on what means to become a saint. He believed that one should strive for peace of mind before emotions are aroused, and at the same time carefully observe one's conscience in doing things. If you do both at the same time, the personality will grow.In a word,Zhu Xi's influence on Zhang Shi's learning system was remarkable. However,Zhu Xi's influence on Zhang Shi on the origin of the universe is not obvious.Within the System of Zhang Shi theory, the discussion of the nature of mind determines the view of the origin of the universe and the view of the way to become a saint.
