A Study On Zhang Zai’s Socialization Thought

Zhang Zai was the founder of Guan Studies and one of the founders of Neo-Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty.Zhang Zai’s thought of Guan school not only played an important role in the formation and development of Neo-Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty,but also his social thought,especially the thought of "socialization" of human beings,broadened the field of Zhang Zai’s thought of Neo-Confucianism,which made Zhang Zai have important achievements in social thought.The formation of Zhang Zai’s socialization thought is closely related to the history and social environment in which it is located.In the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty,when the state was established and the country was invaded by domestic and foreign troubles,Zhang Zai formed a unique and characteristic socialization thought of Guan learning with his industrious and studious academic pioneering spirit,rigorous academic attitude and social responsibility of worrying about his country and people.Zhang Zai’s thought of human socialization has been embodied in many aspects of his Neo-Confucianism thoughts.This paper will introduce how to establish and carry out Zhang Zai’s thought of human socialization from the philosophical theoretical basis of his thought,the conception of ideal society,the practical theory of using rites and the patriarchal thought of respecting patriarchal clans and accepting patriarchal clans,etc.This paper first discusses the social background and cultural environment of Zhang Zai’s life,and explores how Zhang Zai’s socialization thought was influenced by the social atmosphere and ideological development trend of the Northern Song Dynasty,as well as how it came into being under the influence of the political and patriarchal environment at that time.Secondly,it discusses the theoretical support of Zhang Manning’s socialization thought.Starting with the ideological foundation of zhang zai’s thought of human socialization,this paper introduces zhang zai’s theory of the way of heaven,his theory of the nature of temperament and the nature of heaven and earth,and his ideal social conception imitating xia,shang and zhou dynasties,and analyzes the theoretical foundation of zhang zai’s thought of human socialization from the philosophical Angle.It also discusses the goal and ideal that Zhang pursues in his socialization thought,including the ideal personality pursuit of "sanctification",the spiritual realm of "virtue is known",and the Confucian moral goal of carrying out the spirit of "human being and human being" and achieving the unity of nature and man.At the end of this paper,the author discusses the influence of Zhang Zai’s socialization thought on the Neo-Confucianists of later generations,and the ways that the methods of individual socialization in Zhang Zai’s thought provided for the intellectuals’ cultivation,and evaluates the significance of Zhang Zai’s thought at present and later ages,so as to provide inspiration for the ideological and moral construction of contemporary society.
