The Study Of Giorgio Agamben’s Life Poetics

The famous Italian scholar Giorgio Agamben is famous for his bio-politics theory.There is a great interest in the study of Agamben’s political philosophy in the academic circle,but there is not enough attention to his thoughts in the field of literary and artistic aesthetics.As a matter of fact Agamben’s poetics is not only the way leading his political philosophy to observe life,but also the way he hopes to achieve redemption after reflecting on the predicament of his political philosophy.If we do not study Agamben’s poetics,we cannot really understand his political philosophy,let alone fully grasp the whole territory of Agamben’s thoughts.Based on this,this paper focuses on Agamben’s poetics,and generalizes it as life poetics.Based on the text,it discusses the important issues such as the generative context,the core theory,and the thought of redemption,so as to present Agamben’s life poetics systematically.The paper is divided into four parts:the first chapter mainly explains the generative context of his life poetics.Firstly,the evolution of western life consciousness is analyzed to clarify the historical elements of Agamben’s discrimination of life consciousness and clarify the question of "what is life".Secondly,combining with the basic thinking of Agamben’s bio-politics theory,this paper discusses the restrictive factors encountered by modern life.Thirdly,the paper discusses the degeneration of art,and understands why art,which marks the field of life’s true power,is pushed to the degeneration by the filling mechanism and eliminating mechanism of life politics,thus leading to the salvation of art and life.The second chapter expounds the formation and development of Agamben’s life poetics.The first section,draw the outline of the Agamben’s poetics view.The second section,from the standpoint of anti-poetics,expounds the concept and boundary of life poetics by explaining Agamben’s subequating of Aristotle and Heidegger’s poetics.In order to clarify the relationship between poetics and "creation","rule" and "divinity",this paper expounds the ontology of Agamben’s life poetics,which is a redemption theory that breaks the boundary between poetry,art and life.The third section summarizes the language experiment,speech experiment and image ethics of Agamben’s search for life redemption space,from which the two core concepts of "gesture " and "potential",which embody Agamben’s life redemption hope,are extracted.The third chapter,focusing on "gesture"and "potential",discusses how the will of life can be released and how it can lead to an unpossessive life.Chapter four,reflecting on the limitations of Agamben’s life thought,reveals the "emptiness" and "weakness" of his life poetics,and dialectically understands the meaning of his thought.
