With the development of economic globalization and the close communication between countries,the image of a country definitely has a bearing on its international status,so the study of publicity translation is of importance to the image of a country.As the the belt and road initiative goes deeper,Shaanxi's opening up has been developing from strength to strength.Shaanxi has transformed itself from a hinterland province to be a place at the forefront of opening up westward,attracting the world's attention with its profound historical,cultural heritage and advanced industrial development advantages.This requires that in the process of English translation of Shaanxi cultural materials,translation aesthetics should be taken as the guidance so that the translation can meet the aesthetic feelings of foreign readers,and promote the development of tourism in Shaanxi.Translation Aesthetics is the combination of aesthetics and translation studies.The term of “Translation Aesthetics” was proposed in the 1980 s,and claimed “translation doesn't separate from aesthetics.” Currently,the theory of Translation Aesthetics is usually applied in literary translation,but there are fewer studies on the non-literary translation.This paper,taking the translations of the documentary Beauty of Shaanxi as an example,analyzes the features of the original text,and tries to apply the theory of translation aesthetics to the study of publicity translation.Several typical cases are given to make an in-depth studies of the translation strategies featuring the aesthetic reproduction in lexical,syntactical,artistic conception and cultural perspective and the discussion reveals that strategies of alliteration,consonance and connotation are adopted to reproduce the beauty of words;strategies of finding a subject and changing voices,parallel translation and simile translation are used in pursuit of syntactic beauty;strategies of annotation and combination of literal and free translation are used to reproduce the cultural beauty,etc.The above discussion is expected to provide reference for further study of the translation of similar texts and hopefully the original information and the beauty of Chinese language and culture can be accurately conveyed,thus raising the urban publicity translation to a higher aesthetic level.
