Xiang Liu is a Confucian,bibliographer,writer,and historian in the late Western Han Dynasty.Ban Gu praised him,and has an important place in academic history.Xiang Liu's brilliant achievements in bibliography and academy often obscure his creative ideas in music aesthetics.In recent years,the aesthetic thoughts of music Xiang Liu's works have gradually been discovered and some research results have been obtained due to the successive collation and publication of music literature in the two Han dynasties.However,these research results are relatively scattered,which is not in keeping with Xiang Liu's position in music aesthetics that cannot be ignored.Based on the music aesthetics scattered in his writing,this article studies the music aesthetic thoughts,and compares the related music aesthetic thoughts from the pre-Qin to the Western Han Dynasty to study Xiang Liu's views and breakthroughs in music aesthetics.This article consists of three chapters.The first chapter is the formation of Xiang Liu's musical aesthetic thoughts.This chapter mainly analyzes the origin and formation process of Xiang Liu's music aesthetics from the perspective of genetics.The second chapter analyzes the aesthetic characteristics of Xiang Liu's music aesthetics.The first section discusses Xiang Liu's views on Le Yizhao.On the basis of inheriting Confucianism and morality,Xiang Liu combined his viewpoints on literature and quality,the five elements of yin and yang,and political education.He also absorbed the frugality of Huang Lao Taoism,and in the new five virtue thought system Correspond to "Le" with wood,while advocating that Le is based on morality,we should take thrift as the standard,strive for the aesthetic function of music form as much as possible,and emphasize the effect of "transformation".The second section discusses Xiang Liu 's thoughts of suppressing the vulgar,and examines Xiang Liu 's attitude and choice of elegant music and vulgar music in the cultural environment where the elegant and vulgar culture flourished in the Han Dynasty.The third section discusses Zhitong Jinshis thoughts.On the basis of the "revision" thought,Xiang Liu further highlights the subjectivity of music,endowed Zhitong Jinshis with rich theoretical connotations,and extends the sincerity of music to the level of governing the country.The fourth section discusses the idea of Qin Yanzhi,Xiang Liu regards Ya and De as the standard of Qin music,appreciates the natural beauty of Qin music,and for the first time regards the literati's unconsciousness as the theme of Qin Fu.The third chapter is the historical significance and contemporary value of Xiang Liu's musical aesthetic thought,and it is divided into two sections.The first section discusses the historical significance of Xiang Liu's musical aesthetic thoughts,that is,it has opened up a new field of Qin Fu's ideological theme,connected the bridge between the Han and Wei and Jin dynasties,and enhanced the status of music education.The second section discusses the contemporary value of Xiang Liu's musical aesthetic thoughts,and excavates from the reference value of the research on the subjectivity of musical aesthetics,the reference value of the choice of elegant and popular cultural attitudes,and the academic spirit and personality aesthetic education.The last chapter is concluding remarks.
