A Report On C-E Translation Of Validation Master Plan For Vaccine Production Base(Excerpt)Guided By Functional Equivalence Theory

As the requirement of vaccine production safety is constantly increased worldwide,the translation needs of vaccine production verification plans are on the rise.This report is based on the translation practice of the Validation Master Plan for Vaccine Production Base.Under the guidance of Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory,this report presents how proper translation methods are taken to make adjustment at lexical,syntactic and textual level,thus making the target text accurate and fluent.At the lexical level,the translator mainly applies amplification and change of part of speech to achieve the fluency.At the syntactic level,methods such as division,combination,conversion of voice and conversion of syntactic order are used to deal with long and difficult sentences.At the textual level,the translator mainly expounds how to achieve the cohesion and coherence of the target text.Through the translation,the translator achieves the translation purpose,faithfully and fluently expresses the meaning of the original text,and meets the requirements of the translation project.This thesis thinks that translators should pay much attention to the logic between different production processes while translating this kind of validation plan,which is also of great significance to the safety verification of the vaccine production.Besides it hopes that it can be used for reference for the relevant personnel who study and develop the vaccine production and validation plan.
