| Conditional sentences refer to those sentences that contain the sentence of explicit condition or implicit condition. And the typical legislation or legally characterized sentences are generally composed of three basic components: legal subject, legal act,and case, condition or qualification.Condition is the precondition of the legal sentence being rigorous and standard. In general English, conditional sentences are usually divided into sentences of real condition and implied condition. However, conditional sentences in legal English can be classified into explicit conditional sentences and implicit conditional sentences according to whether there is an introductory word or not. Thus, this report divides the conditional sentences into explicit conditional sentences marked by provided that,if,when, unless and notwithstanding, and implicit conditional sentences whose condition relationship are implied by prepositional phrases and attributive clauses. The author adopted methods of literal translation and free translation along with translation skills such as linear translation, reversion, and division during the translating process. |
