The thesis describes an empirical study of language interference in consecutive interpretation from mother tongue language(Arabic)to language C(Chinese).A comprehensive analysis was carried out based on a case study at a mock conference of Egyptian President El-Sisi's keynote speech at the opening ceremony of “World Youth Forum 2017 in Egypt for Young Leaders, aiming to highlight the common features of language interference and provide a better understanding to the importance of this problem.Based on the author's transcribed interpretation, the thesis extracts and explores three main features of language interference;long sentence structure, linguistic logic and lack of religious Knowledge.Examples are used to support the description of the cases. The thesis sheds light on the major linguistic differences between Chinese and Arabic, namely syntactic interference and mode of thinking, linking the occurrence of these features to the domination of mother tongue thinking mode, and the insufficiency of language intuition for target language. The thesis also offers suggestions for improvement and remedies for all the mentioned difficulties, helping the author as well as other students enhance their language skills, boost their language intuition, ameliorate their interpretation skills and thus tackle the main problem at hand i.e.language interference.
