Seclusion takes up most of the time of JiKang's life,no matter his life,literary creation,or his attitude towards life,thoughts and pursuits,they are all related to seclusion.From this point,we can see JiKang's life completely.In fact,this article also focus on JiKang's thoughts and pursuits,and his contradictions or conflicts in troubled times.In the course of this study,the literary writings of JiKang are the main support.Besides,historical background of WeiJin Dynasty and ideologies or pursuits of JiKang also play an important role in this article.It is talking about JiKang's seclusion,involving recluse,source of finance of seclusion,the performance of seclusion,the reasons or traits of seclusion and the influence of seclusion.The main body of this article is divided into four parts:Part one is trying to define the recluse identity of JiKang.The behavioral agent of seclusion is recluse,from this point,we can learn about the definition of recluse and the condition of those recluses who lived in WeiJin Dynasty briefly.Then,taking these two as reference,making a reasonable explanation of the recluse identity of JiKang.In addition,probing into the relation between JiKang and the recluses lived in WeiJin dynasty is also important.Part two is basing on the conclusion of part one,performance of JiKang's seclusion is the main content of this part.This part contains three aspects: the basic necessities,the writings and the friends-making of JiKang.In order to reach the target of discussing the material conditions of the seclusion of JiKang,the basic necessities touch upon the class and family of WeiJin Dynasty,at the same time,family background and marriage of JiKang also can not be neglected.Writings and friends-making are basing on JiKang's works and life experiences.From his works,we can learn about his pursuits and his attention to realistic society,and comparing one of his works “A split-up letter with ShanJuyuan” with another works “home commandment”,we can learn about his personal interests and the reasons for the discrepancies between these two works.From his close friends,we can learn about his attitude to life and depressed state of mind.Part three is talking about the reasons of JiKang's seclusion.Living in that society just like living in the hell,while JiKang's pursuit of the ideal state could never be broken,his body is in hell,but his heart is in paradise.This part is trying to study the struggling state of those scholars in WeiJin Dynasty and learn about the realistic reason of JiKang's seclusion,that is,he's trying to keep himself safe and sound at that time.These two are talking from the realistic level.Talking from the ideological level,the main reasons of JiKang's seclusion is fulfilling his belief,which including the belief of Confucianism and the belief of Taoism.Part four is talking about the feature and influences of JiKang's seclusion.The life of JiKang's seclusion is full of contradictions and conflicts,and this kind of state is specific in the conflicts between Jikang and himself when he is oppressed by reality.JiKang had to fight against his inner self because of the discrepancy between Confucianism and Taoism,as well as the discrepancy between his personality and pursuits.Therefore,although JiKang lived a life of seclusion,Confucian orthodoxy was always kept in his mind.Seclusion not only exert an influence on JiKang,but also have an impact on those scholars who lived in that times and later generations.
