The tone is a big obstacle to their mastery of Chinese pronunciation for the most Chinese learners who have no tone in their native language.Pakistani students are no exception.Therefore,this thesis uses the experimental phonetics research method to analyze the situation of the Chinese students in the intermediate Chinese level and to describe and analyze the tone type,tone value,tone range and duration of the tone,and to compare them with Mandarin.And then to explore the bias of monosyllabic tone of the Pakistani students’ Chinese,analyze the reasons for the bias according to the theory of second language acquisition,and Propose the targeted strategy accordingly.It is hoped that the research in this paper can provide practical and effective help for the study of tone for Pakistani students,and also provide some reference value for the study of second language tone acquisition.First of all,in the part of tone type of Pakistani students: The first tone is lower at first and higher in the end,the overall curve is low;the concave of the second tone is slightly larger,similar to the third tone,the overall curve is low;the third tone of the boys is basically the same as that of the Mandarin,the third tone of the girls descend very slow,the position of the break point is later,and the rise is larger than descend;the main problem of the fourth tone for the boys is that they have not dropped to the end,and the problem of girls’ voice is that the starting point is too low.Secondly,in the part of tone value of Pakistani students: the first tone value is generally low,and some speakers have a tailing value greater than the first value;the main problem of the second tone tone is that there is a tortuous point in the tone,which is confused with the third tone;The tone value of the third tone is closer to the third tone of the Mandarin,but the first value and the tail of the third tone is difficult to grasp accurately;the problem of the fourth tone is that the men’s tail is too high to fall,but the girl is too low to rise.Finally,in the aspect of tone range and duration of tone for Pakistani students: the scope of the tone is generally narrow,which is an important reason for the bias of the tone type of the tone;the order of duration of tone is the same as the duration of the tone of the Mandarin: third tone>first tone>second tone >fourth tone.According to the analysis of the bias of the Pakistani students,this paper summarizes the reasons for the bias,namely “negative transfer of non-tonal mother tongue”,“excessive attention to key features” and “impact of subjective factors”.In view of the phenomenon and reasons of bias,this paper puts forward four suggestions: one is that paying attention to the cultivation of tone consciousness and strengthens the practice;the second is that strengthening the practice of tone range;the third is that specific writing of the tone in the textbooks;and the fourth is using the speech analysis software to assist the tone learning.
