Motivation is one of the most important factors that affect the success or failure for the foreign language learning.It has an important influence on the language learning of second language learners.Learning motivation is also a dynamic psychological process,which has a certain relationship with the internal and external factors of learners.Therefore,the research on learners’ learning motivation has important reference value for foreigners in Chinese teaching.This research combines the theory and practice of the second language teaching and learning.Starting from educational psychology,second language acquisition and other aspects,this paper chooses MBBS Indian students from Kunming Medical University School of International Education as the research object,makes statistical analysis by using social science statistical software SPSS22.0,and carries out a comprehensive investigation and analysis on the learning motivation of MBBS Indian students in Kunming Medical University to learn Chinese by combining interview,communication,classroom observation and other research methods.Based on the analysis results and the author’s one-year teaching experience in the International Education College of Kunming Medical University,this paper will put forward some strategies to stimulate MBBS Indian students’ Chinese learning motivation,hoping to provide some reference value for MBBS Indian students’ Chinese teaching.The ultimate goal of this study is to find out the learning motivation characteristics of MBBS Indian students in Kunming Medical University that under the natural conditions,and to provide references and suggestions for improving the quality of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This research consists of the following seven parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background,significance,content,framework,innovation and research methods.The second part is the theoretical basis and research summary.The theoretical basis mainly defines the related concepts of elaborating learning motivation,and the research review mainly reviews the research literature of domestic and foreignscholars on learning motivation.The third part is the research design of Chinese learning motivation,including the selection of research objects,the determination of research tools,the collection and processing methods of data.The fourth part is to use the factor analysis method to analyze the data,and draws the conclusion that the motivation of Chinese learning of MBBS Indian students in China can be divided into six types: intrinsic interest motivation,learning situation motivation,achievement motivation,communication integration motivation,external pressure motivation and instrumental motivation.The fifth part is mainly to analyze the influence of students’ gender,age,learning time,self-evaluation of Chinese level on learning motivation and the relationship between learning motivation and learning intensity.It is concluded that the higher the approval level of intrinsic interest motivation,learning situation motivation,communication integration motivation,achievement motivation and instrumental motivation,the higher the motivation intensity.The students with good or general performance in communicative integration motivation and instrumental motivation have stronger learning motivation than those with poor performance.However,on the contrary,among the external pressure motivation,the learning motivation for the poor performance students is the strongest.Different evaluations of Chinese proficiency have significant effects on the types of communicative integration motivation,external pressure motivation and instrumental motivation.The sixth part is based on the analysis of the research results and the author’s one-year teaching experience in this school,so as to put forward some suggestions to improve the motivation of Indian students,who majoring in MBBS,to learn Chinese,and point out the enlightenment of the research on teaching Chinese as the foreign language.The last part is the conclusion,in which the author will point out the shortcomings of this study and further research content and direction. |
