A Report On Mock Chinese-English Simultaneous Interpreting Of The CBN Financial Summit At 2017 Asian Financial Forum(Excerpts)

This report is based on the interpreter’s mock Chinese-English simultaneous interpreting(SI)of the CBN Financial Summit at 2017 Asian Financial Forum.The C-E interpreting of this conference is of great importance to the foreign scholars for having further awareness of the Fintech in China.Since it is a professional conference about Fintech,the interpreter has made a lot of pre-interpreting preparations to ensure the quality of this practice.By analyzing the parallel video,the 2018 ATEC Financial Technology Summit,the interpreter finds out that several challenges,such as high rate of delivery,loose syntactic structures,redundant information and idioms,are presented by the speakers in such kind of summit.According to Effort Model and Interpretive Theory,Linearity and Information Equivalence are adopted as coping principles.Generalization,reconstruction,omission and paraphrasing are used to deal with the potential challenges mentioned above.Evaluation and conclusion are made after the interpreting practice,which aims to provide a reference for the future Fintech C-E simultaneous interpreting.
