Founded in 1760,the Board of Deputies of British Jews is an organization that represents British Jews in consultation with the government to promote and defend the religious rights of British Jews and the freedom of citizens.At the beginning of the organization,there were fewer activities.With the development of the British Jewish Liberation Movement,the Board also actively took up its responsibilities and tried to promote the liberation of the Jews.By the 1880 s,the British Jews were basically liberated.This article examines the main activities of the committee from 1881-1939 from three aspects:the assistance of the Board of Deputies of British Jews of the British Jewish refugees,the reaction to British anti-Semitism,and the cooperation with the British Zionists.First of all,it discusses the assistance of the Board of Deputies of British Jews of the British Jewish refugees.It analyzes the Board as a representative body of the British Jews and has assisted the Jewish refugees in Eastern Europe in political,economic,legal and educational cultures,as well as the Nazis after 1933.Assistance from Jewish refugees persecuted in Germany.Secondly,it discusses the countermeasures taken by the Board in response to the British anti-Semitism: before the First World War,the Board avoided the larger anti-Semitic activities by regulating the economic dispute between Jews and non-Jews;Through various means,the Board called on the British Jews to actively participate in the war to stimulate the Jewish patriotism;after the war,the Board responded to anti-Semitism through public opinion propaganda and mass protests.Finally,it discusses the competition and cooperation between the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Zionist Alliance.During the First World War,the Jewish Zionist forces increased,trying to challenge the Jewish representative Board ' s leadership in the British Jews,along with Bell.The publication of the Balfour Declaration and the reform of theBoard of Deputies of British Jews will eventually lead to cooperation.In the conclusion,the paper makes a micro analysis and evaluation of the important activities of the Board of Deputies of British Jewsbetween 1881-1939.
