In teaching Chinese as a foreign language,reading teaching is a key link and a relatively difficult part.Therefore,a strong emphasis of intermediate reading is of great significance to succeeding the intermediate stage of foreign students' Chinese learning.Language teaching depends on the teaching curriculum.The quality of teaching curriculum typically has a direct impact on teaching effectiveness.The most important part of a teaching curriculum is its exercises.Therefore,this paper chooses “Ladder Chinese-intermediate reading”,a typical curriculum for intermediate reading,as the object of study.Combining with curriculum compilation,linguistics,psychology,pedagogy and other relevant theories,and with comprehensive statistical data,this paper analyzes three aspects of curriculum exercises,namely,the quantity,type and content of exercises to determine its overall advantages and disadvantages.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which firstly summarizes the reason and significance of the topic selection.Then it elaborates the research objects and methods.Finally,it draws further conclusion on the significance of this topic selection by analyzing and comparing the use of reading curriculum and reading curriculum exercises with previous related studies.The second part is the survey of exercise content.This chapter examines exercise content using three aspects: language knowledge,language fluency and reading skills.This chapter focus on micro reading skills combining with previous research on the topic.The topic of micro reading skills is classified into nine sections.And one by one,the chapter will discuss detailed survey and analysis to conclude a special,reasonable and worthy improvement.The third part is the statistics and analysis of exercise quantity.It mainly surveys the total amount of exercise,the amount of exercise per lesson and the average amount of exercise per class hour.Based on the comprehensive statistical data and previous investigations,it puts forward the suggested amount of exercise per lesson for reference.The fourth part is the statistics and analysis of exercise types.This chapter examines the variety of exercises and the two following types: main exercises and special exercises.In terms of exercise variety,this chapter studies the types of exercises used and the amount of questions generated in each lesson to explore a reasonable and worthy improvement.The fifth part is the suggestion.This suggestion includes purposeful personal idea and analysis through in-depth studies of the three aspects: exercise quantity,type and content.The proposal seeks to provide helpful reference for the compilation of intermediate reading curriculum exercises.In the conclusion part,the author expounds the developing ideas,research methods,research results and existing shortcomings of this paper,and forms a conclusion regarding the situation and future improvement.
