This practice report takes the translation practice of Cross Country as an example and mainly talks about the guidance role of Eco-translatology theory in the translation practice of children literature.Published in 2016,Cross Country is the 42 nd book of the series Show Jumping Dreams by British children's literature writer Claire Svendsen. In the novel, the author employs many rhetorical techniques to make the language vivid and suitable for children to read. The practice report showcases the whole translation process, case analysis under the guidance of translation theory and problems encountered during translation process as well as solutions. In the process of translation the translator selects appropriate translation techniques to conduct the adaptive transformation of languages and avoid the mechanical correspondence according to the Eco-translatology theory. The report analyzes translation cases from three aspects: adaptive selection from linguistic dimension, adaptive selection from cultural dimension and adaptive selection from communicative dimension selection.Through analyzing the translation examples the report emphasizes the flexible application of translation theory and the translator's subjectivity, making the translation express right feelings and adapt to the environment of the translated language. Moreover, through the analysis and resolution of the problems the report will provide certain reference value for such novels' translation.Figure 0;Table 0;Reference 27.
